Recommendation
For the multipurpose user (gaming, movies, shows, etc…) I recommend the following 2.
Value Option – Benq TK800M (~$1300)
Benefits of the TK800M
1)4k + HDR + 3D
2)1 HDMI 2.0 and 1 HDMI 1.4a.
3) Relatively short throw, 120″ projection at 13.1ft.
4) Relatively fast input lag at 49ms.
5) 3000 Lumens
Cons of the TK800M
1) You will have to play with the color calibration to get the color settings you prefer. Presets are subpar.
2) No lens shift, but it does have Keystone and a little zoom.
Performance option – Optoma UHD50x ($1600) <— I would go for this if price isn’t too much an issue.
Benefits of the Optoma UHD50x
1) 4k with HDR and 3D.
2) HDMI 2.0 and HDMI 1.4a
3) Relatively short throw, 120″ between 10.5-13.9ft.
4)Fast input lag, at 1080p it has a 16ms and at 4k it is 25ms.
5) 240hz at 1080p, also incredible for fast paced gaming.
6) 3400 Lumens
7) Easy to setup perfectly with Lenshift, keystone, and good zoom
Cons of the UHD50x
1) Pricier
2) Will also need some color adjustment out the box.
For the Movie Fanatic (no gaming at all).
Benq HT3550 ($1499)
Pros:
1) Short throw, 100inch at 8.2ft away.
2) 4k HDR with very good color accuracy and 3d.
3) Easy to setup perfectly with Lenshift, keystone, and good zoom
4) HDMI 2.0
Cons
1) Bad for gaming
2) 2000 Lumens, your room needs to be as dark as possible
